Beer, music and food…what else do you need?

If you’ve not had your fill of fun this weekend and are pining to find plans for next weekend, you are in luck if you have a fondness for craft beer. There is a craft beer festival taking place on Friday the 19th, Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st of September and even if you are not fully focused on craft beer, there will be plenty of great quality food and music on offer.

The Craft Beer Rising event is being held at Drygate, a venue we have already given a thumbs up to, and there will be plenty on offer. If you are looking to try some of the best local brewers, WEST, Williams Bros. and Fyne Ales will be well represented. There will also be major international craft beer names such as Sierra Nevada and Blue Moon so you can taste the world with respect to craft beers. There will be 35 craft breweries present at the event so you have a chance to develop your knowledge and awareness of this growing trend.

Of course, you may like a drink and not be too fussed about the craft beer element, so you’ll be glad to know that there will be other elements to look out for. Some of the food specialists attending the event includes Burger Bear of London, sausage specialists Meat Hook, Meat Merchant and Aye Love Real Food, who supposedly offer rare breed Scotch eggs. I’m a big fan of Scotch eggs but I am the first to admit that they contain too much egg and not enough Scotch, but who knows, this could be the Scotch egg to change that opinion. That should be more than enough to ensure you have a full stomach while you enjoy your beers.

There is also an excellent music line-up across the weekend, with Kiltr being behind the line-up. Optimo take care of the Friday night activities, Saturday afternoon sees Mia Dora providing a hip-hop event while The Revenge takes control of Saturday night. For Sunday you will be able to enjoy Mungo’s Hi Fi, Andy Smith and Boca45, so no matter when you get along, there will be interesting entertainment.

So there you go, craft beer, great food and a smashing line-up of music, that should be more than enough to give you plans for this coming weekend.
