Great Glasgow folk from great Glasgow folk…

There are plenty of great Glasgow bands to look out for and one of the best things is that no matter what genre you like, there should be something that is right up your street. At Get Around Glasgow, we’ve taken a shine to what we’ve heard from Mistake Pageant and we’re looking forward to hopefully catching them next week. There are always new bands on the go but that doesn’t mean you should overlook the Glasgow bands that have been around for a while.

If you have been around this site for a while, you’ll know that we are big fans of State Broadcasters and if you are looking to check them out, you have a great opportunity to do so.

Single life in Glasgow isn’t all that bad!

The double A-side single was released today, Monday the 11th of March and you can grab it for free. The songs can be downloaded from the following link:

State Broadcasters bandcamp page

While the tracks are available for free, if you feel as though you would like to put some money towards the band and rewarding their creativity, you can do so as well. With a listen to option available on the page, why not give the tracks a quick listen and if you like them, download for a small fee.

One of the tracks ‘Where I Belong’ can be found on the band’s most recent album, ‘Ghosts We Must Carry’. The album has been critically acclaimed by a number of magazines and web sites and it has provided the platform for some great live shows in recent months. The album is a bit darker and a good progression forwards from the group’s opening album so if you caught them the first time they were around but haven’t heard them recently, there is definitely something to look forward to.

Of course, if you have grabbed the album, you will be glad to know that there is an all new song available on the release too. We’d tell you all about ‘Be The Someone’ but why not watch the video below and make your own mind up about what is on offer:

Ideally this would be the perfect track for this time of year, blossoming into life with the onset of Spring and the blooming of flowers. The Glasgow weather has something a bit different in store for us at the moment though but hopefully this will pass quite quickly.
